CE and 2E MCA Oral Exam Questions and Answers - Wire Bound - BOOK 2
This book is the second instalment in my MCA Chief Engineer and Second Engineer oral exam preparation series.
It contains a further selection of carefully chosen questions and answers aimed at management-level marine engineering candidates. The focus is on practical, oral-style answers that help you understand not just the technical subject, but how to explain it clearly and confidently to an examiner.
This volume builds on the first Chief Engineer and Second Engineer oral exam book and covers additional areas such as advanced engine questions, fuel and lubricating oil issues, electrical systems, class and flag responsibilities, dry dock considerations, enclosed space safety, MAIB reporting, lifeboat surveys, grounding response, stability considerations and other practical Chief Engineer-level topics.
There is a huge amount of information that could be asked in an MCA oral exam, and no single book can cover every possible question. What I have done here is continue to handpick questions that I believe are realistic, useful and worth your revision time. The aim is not to overload you with textbook theory, but to help you prepare the kind of answers that sound professional, practical and experience-based.
This book is written in the same style as my previous titles: direct, practical and focused on what you would actually say in the oral room. Some answers are deliberately detailed to help you understand the subject properly, while others are kept short and sharp where that is more appropriate.
This volume stands alone, but I strongly recommend using it alongside my EOOW Oral Exam book and the first Chief Engineer and Second Engineer Oral Exam book. The knowledge from those books is still highly relevant at senior level, and examiners can still ask basic engineering questions no matter what ticket you are sitting.
