The Developer

Hello, my name is Nick and I'm the creator of PocketChief. I've been a part of the Marine Engineering Industry since I was 16 years old. I began my journey by studying at Warsash Maritime Academy and then worked with renowned cruise companies for five years.

Following my experience with cruise ships, I decided to transition to Ferries, where I spent the next five years working in the English Channel between Dover and Dunkerque.

I then moved into the yachting industry, where I currently serve as a Chief Engineer on vessels over 90m. Through my years in the industry, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience that I am eager to share with aspiring Marine Engineers.

I have also studied at Warsash and South Shields and am well-versed in the colleges and surrounding areas. I am committed to providing personalised, expert guidance to those who are seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of marine engineering.

Mission Statement

Becoming a Marine Engineer can be both exciting and rewarding, but it can also be challenging. At PocketChief, we understand how daunting it can be to sit exams or join your first vessel. That's why we're here to provide you with the necessary support and help along the way, so that you can confidently take on the responsibilities that come with this exciting career.

We offer personalised online tutoring services tailored to your individual needs. We are particularly proud to offer candidates access to a qualified Marine Engineer who can serve as a 'study buddy' and provide guidance whenever they face difficulties along the way.

It's important to note that we are UK-based and therefore offer help and advice based on the guidelines and regulations of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). However, we want to make it clear that we have no affiliation with the MCA or any nautical college. Our services are solely intended to provide educational support and guidance to aspiring Marine Engineers, and we assume no liability or responsibility for any consequences arising from the use of our services.
